Calcutta bristle - Grey/Black, our strongest natural bristle, gives a lot more pressure than china bristle.
It is of exceptional quality and so it is our most popular filling. China bristle - Black, good quality, elastic filling for light or knitted fabrics.
Can be used when the stenter has a range of fabrics on it. Nylon (0.4mm/0.7mm) - white, strong fibres used when more pressure is needed.
Robust, used with denims, awnings, carpet backing etc. Horse hair and goat hair - Soft, used for sensitive and fine fabrics where small amounts of pressure are needed for pinning. Many brushes are available in other fillings such as impregnated nylon. Wire (steel/bronze) - Used mainly for pin/clip cleaning applications or extreme pressure applications with very thick fabrics.
